COVID-19 Policy

At rusticspirit, we’re committed to doing our best to stop the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of our guests.

The federal government has announced their plans for easing restrictions in Australia. The first step includes the relaxing of restrictions on travel within your state. In the lead up to domestic travel restrictions easing, we suggest following the advice of the relevant government authorities prior to making any travel arrangements. If restrictions are extended or reinstated, cancellations will be in accordance with our cancellation policy below so be sure to review this before going ahead with your booking.

During this time, we recommend all guests follow the travel guidelines outlined by the WHO and Australian government. If you’re experiencing symptoms, please follow the advice on the Department of Health website

Please note, this policy is subject to change as the COVID-19 status in Australia changes, and relevant government bodies update their advice.

Cancellations as a result of COVID-19

If you’re affected by COVID-19 and are unable to travel during the time of your rusticspirit booking, we encourage you to first consider postponing rather than cancelling. You can call us to change the dates of your booking at any time.

If you need to cancel a direct booking as a result of COVID-19, you can contact us to request a refund. Please note that all 3rd party cancellation refunds are at the discretion of the booking agent and their booking cancellation policy. If your booking agent does agree to a full refund, your booking agent will need to cancel the booking from their side.

I want to postpone my booking, but I don't know when this will be over. What do I do?

There's no fee for changing booking dates (as long as you give us 7 days notice of the change) so you can always pick some new dates now and then change them again if things haven't returned to normal. Have a chat with us about your options.

Can I use rusticspirit to book accommodation to self-isolate?

We encourage you to exercise common sense when it comes to self-isolating.  As it stands, travelling to another area to self-isolate is acceptable, and in line with government travel advice.

Some recommendations:

  • The goal is not to spread any potential viral outbreaks to regional areas

  • It’s important to maintain social distancing measures

  • Organise a self check-in to reduce exposure to human contact

  • Stock up on all your food and drink before you go, and fill up on petrol close to home

What’s considered non-essential domestic travel?

As a guideline, non-essential travel are those travel activities outside your standard routines. You should exercise common sense when it comes to defining what 'essential travel' is for you. Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison recommends that Australians should reconsider all non-essential domestic travel.

Some recommendations:

  • Exercise their common sense when it comes to deciding what's essential travel.

  • People who have intrastate trips planned should reconsider.

  • People who have interstate trips planned should cancel.

Please contact us on stay@rusticspirit.com.au if any part of this policy is unclear or you need assistance.

On behalf of the rusticspirit team, we hope you stay safe and healthy.
